AIPRO advocates for policies that promote competition, expand passenger rail options, and provide value for taxpayers. Our 2025 reauthorization priorities include:

Policy Objectives:

• Equalizing federal funding eligibility for public and private operators

• Promoting competitive access to Corridor ID, CRISI, and other FRA grants

• Supporting labor-inclusive project delivery models

• Promoting regulatory reforms that simplify implementation without sacrificing safety

• Encouraging arbitration and streamlined oversight in competitive procurement models

AIPRO supports legislative efforts, such as S.209 and similar frameworks, that recognize the role of private operators as long-term partners in delivering passenger rail service through public-private collaboration.
